We are PõFõKRacing, a motor sports team based in Maui, Hawaii. Currently we are concentrating on drag racing but have experience in dirt oval, SCCA autocross, and more. At this time, we are currently sponsored by Maui Tech Solutions, Howard's Auto Repair, Lahaina Divers, Tony's Auto Repair & Performance, Snap-On, and Ultra Hawaii. We are however seeking further sponsors and if you are interested in an exciting marketing opportunity for your business, please contact us for further information.
We completed the build of a 1970 Plymouth Super Runner that started mid 2015 in February 2016 just in time for the 2016 season. This build was completely done using the spare parts that friends had laying around for their Mopars. What is a Super Runner you ask? Well, it is a Satellite chassis with a Coronet front-end and a Road Runner rear-end. Yes, for you Mopar purest out there, you are probably scratching your head, but that is why we did it, and the fact that those were the spare parts we had available.
Currently we are running a 493 cubic inch wedge block with forged crank and rods as well as aluminum Edelbrock heads. We have a solid lifter cam underneath a tunnel ram intake with dual 850cfm Holley carburetors. All of this is putting out around 650Hp at the crank. This setup is then coupled to a 3-speed automatic transmission which is driving a set of 4:33 8 3/4 gears in the back.
So far, we have been able to run in the 11s with our best pass being a 11.28 @ 118mph. Somewhat respectable for a street car yes, but bear in mind, this is a footbraked car with no boxes, transbrake or electronics. It has the factory steel body including hood, trunk, and fenders as well as factory glass and nothing has been stripped out or cut down. No fiberglass, lexan, or carbon fiber in this car! It is a 3,600 lb. lead sled land yacht.
